Informationen zum Studiengang (auf Englisch):

The Master of Science program Energy Science and Technology prepares students for a professional career in energy related research, development and industrial application in numerous industrial areas. It is strongly research oriented, with lecturers from an applied research institution and from industry providing close contact with industrial R&D and application.

Based on a broad education in traditional Energy Technology and related areas in Chemistry, Materials Science, and Electrical Engineering, the program later specializes on non-Carnot processes for energy conversion, in particular on electrochemical energy conversion (fuel cells), and on electrochemical energy storage (batteries).

It should enable the graduates to solve energy related scientific and engineering problems by applying methods from Natural Sciences and Engineering, and provide the necessary knowledge and background required for a professional career in research, development and industrial application, in particular in Electrochemical Energy Technology.

Extensive lab courses provide practical training in experimental and simulation methods; the Master's thesis (6 months, full time) introduces the students to state-of-the-art research in the wellequipped and highly active research groups participating in the program or to more applied research in the participating Research Institute and with partners from industry. A summer internship with one of the industry partners (recommended) can provide further technical experience.
